Ri Bhoi talent hunt concludes

NONGPOH: Ri Bhoi Got Talent, an event aimed at promoting budding dancers and singers of Ri Bhoi district concluded at the Umsning Town Durbar Hall here on Saturday. The event, which saw several youngsters enthrall the sizeable audience with their performances, was organised by the Ri Bhoi Future Dancers Association.
Umsning MDC, Donkupar Sumer was the chief guest on the occasion. President of All Meghalaya Dancers Association (AMDA), Kit Thabah was also present.
Lauding the efforts of the organizers, Sumer promised to bear the expense incurred during the conduct of the programme.
Meanwhile, Thabah informed that the AMDA will soon submit a memorandum seeking “inclusion of Youth Skill Talent Development in the government’s department”. He also urged the headmen, women’s organisations and NGOs to extend their support in making the association’s initiative a success.
Earlier in the day Kismol Nongrang, a singer from Sumer in Ri Bhoi emerged as winner of the talent show whereas Vishal Lyngdoh (dancer) and Balari Lyngdoh (singer) from Nongpoh were adjudged 1st and 2nd runners up respectively.
