Special summary revision of voters’ list

SHILLONG: The last date for special summary revision of electoral rolls is January 1, 2017, the State Chief Electoral Officer said on Thursday.
The draft electoral rolls will be published on September 30 and claims and objections can be filed between September 30 and October 31. Reading of relevant sections of photo electoral rolls in gram sabhas and local bodies, RWA meetings and verification of names will be on October 1 and 8.
Dates for other formalities like special campaign with booth-level agents of political parties for receiving claims and objections are October 15 and 22, and disposal of claims and objections by November 15, updating the database, merging of photographs, updating control tables and preparation and printing of supplementary list by December 10 and final publication of electoral rolls is on January 10, 2017.
The Chief Electoral Officer said all eligible persons who would be 18 years as on January 1, 2017, should get themselves enrolled. Details and prescribed forms are available at the office of the deputy commissioners, sub-divisional officers, block divisional officers and polling stations.
