SHILLONG: Roads in parts of the city are expected to get a facelift before the festival season.PWD (Roads) Minister Martin Danggo said plans are afoot to repair the dilapidated roads before the festivals begin.
The pending bills of the contractors running into crores of rupees and the rains are the hurdles for the State government to repair city roads.According to Danggo, another priority of the government is to complete the roads sanctioned in rural areas in a time-bound manner. He said the short working season due to the continuous rain in Meghalaya is a major hindrance in completing road projects in time.
