SHILLONG: The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has tied up with the Shillong College here to provide a platform to the youth to equip themselves with the skills to benefit from the growing private sector in the region.
“There is dearth of company secretaries in the North East including Meghalaya,” said ICSI vice president Shyam Agarwal here on Wednesday, adding that there is a tremendous scope in the career and people can get up to Rs 2  crore per annum in the profession.
He said that the Institute functions under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and offers a three-and-half-year course at a fee of Rs  24000 to Rs 30000.  A study centre of the institute has been set up at the Shillong College and around 150 youths have enrolled in the course.
