Imphal: A powerful bomb was detonated along the Manipur-Myanmar boundary, near a Muslim village, officials said on Monday.
Official sources said the blast took place near boundary pillar No.79 at 8 PM on Sunday, hardly 40 metres from a Muslim village.
Soon after the blast, the police and Assam Rifles troopers rushed to make investigation.
No arrest was made. There has been no claim from any underground organisation either. The police said the motive behind the blast is yet unclear.
Some villagers said, “We feared more blasts and exchange of fire. Most of us fled towards the town to stay in the houses of relatives and friends.” (IANS)
