SpiceJet starts flights to Aizawl, Silchar from Guwahati

Guwahati: Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday inaugurated the two new air services of the private sector airline, SpiceJet, connecting Guwahati to Silchar and Aizawl.
Sonowal also inaugurated an additional air service of the airline between Guwahati and Kolkata.
Inaugurating the air services, Sonowal said his government was preparing a blueprint to make Guwahati a hub of domestic and international air services given that improvement air services acted as a catalyst for faster economic growth besides generating employment.
He said Assam government wanted more flights to operate from Guwahati airport connecting all important cities in the country and destinations in neighbouring countries.
