Baby boy abandoned

SHILLONG: Police on Wednesday asked the parents/relatives of a new born found abandoned at Nongmynsong on Monday to claim the child within 60 days failing which the baby will be declared legally free for adoption.
Currently, the infant, a baby boy, is under the care and protection of “Lawei Baphyrnai” Specialized Adoption Agency, Shillong.
In a statement issued here the police said any person having information of any sort regarding the infant can contact the Office of the District Child Protection Unit, Lachumiere, Child Welfare Committee, Lachumiere and Lawei Baphyrnai Specialized Adoption Agency, Mawklot.
