Former UDP leader set to join BJP

SHILLONG: North Jowai MDC Marki Mulieh, who had resigned from the United Democratic Party (UDP), is all set to join the BJP on October 29.
State BJP president Shibun Lyngdoh said that Mulieh will join the party along with his 1500 supporters.
Meanwhile, the BJP’s Bihar in-charge Bhupendra Yadav was in Shillong on Monday to take stock of the working of the party. During the visit, he held meetings with the party’s women and farmers’ wings besides others. Yadav urged party workers to strengthen the BJP in the state besides creating awareness about the various developmental programmes and schemes undertaken by the Centre in rural areas.
