SHILLONG: Foodies and those who are blessed with culinary skills have a good piece of news. There is going to be a unique Food Festival which will be a big draw for both.
Being organised by Rilbong Sports & Cultural Club as a part of its on-going diamond jubilee celebrations, the Festival, scheduled for December 3 next, will see some of the local talents demonstrate their culinary skills live on-the-spot. Shillong’s own Indian Institute of Hotel Management will actively be involved with the event.
A press statement issued by the Club here on Wednesday said that efforts were on to invite a team from Bangladesh to showcase their much famed delicacies.
The Food Festival is being dedicated to the memory of Late Ardhendu Chaudhuri, ex-MLA, and former President of the Club, who introduced the concept of Food Festival in this part of the country some two decades ago.
The Club has made provision for sale of foods—both vegetarian and non-vegetarian—besides having mouth-watering snacks and ice cream counters. Live music and fun games will also be organised to give it a carnival look.
