‘Toilet in every household a must’

Nongpoh: In celebrating World Toilet Day, the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) under Umling C & RD Block on Saturday organized a programme at Rongmesek village in Ri Bhoi District where a cleaning drive was also conducted.
B Basaiawmoit, Block Coordinator of SBM Umling while speaking at the function enlightened the villagers on the need to maintain a clean toilet and called upon the villagers to be united to spread the importance of cleanliness in the society.
‘Even though all villages in Ri Bhoi District has been awarded an Open Defecation Free certificate, few household still exists without proper toilet and I would like to request them to construct one’ she said, adding that open defecation may leads to serious health implications.
