India International Trade Fair concludes

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya pavilion bagged gold medal for excellence in display under the North Eastern States category in the 36th edition of India International Trade Fair (IITF) organized by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from November 14 to 27.
Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations B. Kharsamai received the award on behalf of the State Pavilion. The award was presented by Chairman and Managing Director, ITPO L. C. Goyal and Ambassador of Belarus to India Vitaly A Prima at a function held at Shakuntalam Convention Centre, Pragati Maidan.
Assam and Tripura were awarded the Commendation Pavilion in the North Eastern States category.
The departments representing Meghalaya at the IITF include Agriculture, Horticulture, Commerce & Industries, Tourism, Cooperative Societies, Sericulture and Weaving, IT and Communication, MHHDC, MKVIB and Directorate of IPR as the nodal Department.
Apart from government departments, 17 units sponsored by different departments drawn from various parts of the state also participated in the Fair.
