SHILLONG: The Enforcement Wing of the KHADC led by Assistant Superintendent D. Nongsiej on Wednesday conducted an inspection at Pynursla and Rngain to check vehicle documents following a complaint by KSU’s South Central East Circle, Pynursla to Executive Member Trade Neil Antonio War.
The members of the pressure group led by their president Ennocent Khongstia verified the documents of vehicles bearing Assam, Nagaland and other registration numbers. As per the information received by the enforcement wing and the KSU, the owners of these vehicles were Khasis residing at Pynursla and the drivers are not in possession of the documents forcing the enforcement personnel to search for the owners.
Khongstia alleged that this is an act of benami transaction and has encouraged inflow of drivers from neighbouring states seeking an opportunity to earn. The matter will be taken up with the Transport department.
