Shillong: In preparation for the upcoming bye-election to the 1-War East District Council Constituency of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council, the commissioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) was done on Wednesday in the Conference Hall of the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (C), Amlarem.
S. C. Laloo, ADC, West Jaintia Hills, I. Laloo, SDO (C), Amlarem and Assistant Returning Officer to the 1-War East District Council bye-election and officers and technical engineers from the Election department were present to supervise the commissioning of the EVMs. Representatives of the various political parties contesting in the bye-election were also present.
