SHILLONG: The High Court of Meghalaya has fixed Friday to hear the PIL seeking proper tender for the implementation of nutritional programme of the State government.
After the matter came up for hearing before the Chief Justice on Wednesday, it was listed for hearing on Friday.
The PIL was filed before the High Court of Meghalaya by Agnes Kharshiing calling for online tender for transparent implementation of the supplementary nutritional programme for children and pregnant women by the Social Welfare Department.
The PIL also sought publication of the tender in print media as this was not done by the concerned department.
The tender was floated for supply of ready-to-eat micro nutrient fortified energy-dense food suitable for children up to six years of age and pregnant and nursing mothers under different ICDS projects in the state.
