Compensatory Holidays
The Under Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, General Administration (A) Department has informed that all State Government Offices and all Revenue and Magisterial Courts in the State will be closed on the December 28 and 29 as compensatory holidays. However, in compensation, all such offices and courts will remain opened on March the 18 and 25, 2017.
Ramakrishna Mission
Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Quinton Road, will distribute certificates to about 450 of its trainees in the convocation to be held on December 21 at 2:00 PM. Archbishop Dominic Jala, will be present as the chief guest and Swami Achyuteshananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission,  will also be present at the function. The trainees received a two-month long training in various subjects of computer, English language, communication skills, and personality development.
Dry Day
The Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills District, Nongstoin has declared Dry Day in the whole District on the December 24 and 25 being Sunday on account of Christmas. All liquor shops/IMFL shops/bar, hotels/canteen/C. A. Bars/C.S. shops, out stills/bonded warehouse shall remain closed on the above mentioned date.
Run for Health
Seng Kynthei Pdeng Shnong Mawlai Mawroh had organized the Mawlai Mawroh ‘Run for Health’ on December 17 at 7 AM. The marathon was for the age group of 5 to 70 years old and over 300 participants. Minister of state for Health, Roshan Warjri was the chief guest
