Man beaten to death on New Year eve

TURA: A young man was beaten to death by unidentified miscreants in the heart of Williamnagar town on the eve of New Year. A few locals informed police after they spotted the body of the man, identified as 25-year-old Asmil J. Sangma of Chekwegre village, in Warima locality of the town around 11pm on December 31.
Preliminary inquiry showed Sangma, who was staying at Nakham Bazar, was hit on the head with a blunt object. Police said the Sangma may have been attacked by a group of men. No arrest was made so far.
