BSF seizes liquor

SHILLONG: The BSF troops deployed at Baburambil in West Garo Hills arrested two Indian liquor smugglers with 36 bottles of IMFL which were being smuggled into Bangladesh on Tuesday. The duo has been identified as Manik Ch Sangma of Bamanpara under Dalu police station, and Amrush Ch. Marak of Gasuapara under Gasuapara police station in South Garo Hills. The BSF jawans also seized a motor cycle.
Similar seizure was made by the BSF troops deployed at Bholaganj and the number of recovered bottles is 62.
The BSF has seized 20,178 bottles of alcohol worth more than Rs 15 lakh since last year.
As many as 13 Indian liquor smugglers were arrested in the process, a statement issued here on Tuesday said.
