TURA: The branch manager of the Gambegre State Bank of India, who was earlier alleged of neglecting her duties, has said extortion threats through SMSes prompted her to leave office early.
Locals, along with the Hill People’s Federation, have been demanding that the bank manager be replaced as she attended office only for less than three hours from 11.30 am to 2pm despite the problems faced by customers post demonetisation. Following a news report, a highly placed bank official clarified on Sunday that the official leaves the bank early due to safety concerns.
