House gutted by fire

SHILLONG: A house was gutted by fire at Mawsaw Mingi near Mawkyrwat, South West Khasi Hills on January 9, a delayed report said.
According to the residents of the area, the house belonged to one Sharati Iawphniaw.
The incident took place at around 9 am when the mother went to the nearby shop leaving her four children at home.
While the children were rescued, the household materials could not be saved and the house was completely gutted by fire.
The loss estimated is few lakhs of rupees.
The family is currently housed at United Christian Upper Primary School, Mawsaw, Mingi near Mawkyrwat. The church has appealed the people to come forward and help the family.
