Wife ‘hanged’ by husband

SHILLONG: A person allegedly hanged his wife after he assaulted her in North Garo Hills on Monday.According to police, the matter is under investigation after the people handed over the person identified as Amjit Sangma to the police after he tried to flee.        The incident took place in the morning after the accused had a quarrel with his wife Rasina Arengh at their residence at Upper Khar-kutta area of North Garo Hills. The husband beat up the wife and after she was found unconscious, she was allegedly hanged.
