TURA: Hundreds of commuters, especially traders and government employees, were affected on Monday after all public vehicles stopped plying to and from South Garo Hills following the abduction of three drivers on Sunday.
The association of bus owners and drivers took all vehicles off the road in protest against the abductions.
On Monday, hundreds of government employees and other commuters, who were waiting for vehicles at Tura market, had a harrowing time. The two government-run Tata Wingers were the only mode of transport.
Similar scenes were witnessed at Baghmara as passengers failed to find public transport to head to Tura and other towns.
