Delay in D.El. Ed results
SHILLONG: After the recent dharna carried out by Meghalaya SSA Schools Association (MSSASA) central body, against the failure of NIOS to rectify the faults of Diploma in Elementary Education, the Association has decided to go ahead with the second phase of protest against the NIOS.
The teachers which are from different categories will launch a six day letter campaign to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his personal whatsapp application starting from Monday till February 4.
The request of the teachers to the PM is to intervene in the matter and direct the HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar cum President of National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) society and the Chairman of the NIOS to take up the matter seriously and rectify the anomalies created by the NIOS on D.El.Ed examination results at the earliest.
According to the teachers, anomalies on the result had put the trainees in difficult situation to avail the revised remuneration announced by the State Mission Authority Meghalaya Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SEMAM,SSA) especially for SSA teachers.
As per the letter addressed to the Prime Minister, the Secretary of Meghalaya SSA Schools Association Central Body Hamarbamut Marbaniang said that in Meghalaya, the NIOS had enrolled 4385 in-service untrained teachers teaching at Elementary level for the two years’ Diploma in Elementary Education course to acquire professional qualifications as per RTE Act 2009 and NCTE norms in the 1st batch in December 2013 and created various anomalies in the results declared on September 19, 2016 that also after a delay of nine months.
