Smriti meets fans at an exhibition in city

SHILLONG: Hands held up and front camera set, no doubt, it is a selfie ready world- as seen when the crowd at the product exhibition organised by the Ministry of Textiles took out their smart phones for a selfie.
The desirous crowd was eager to get a glimpse of Minister of Textile, Smriti Zubin Irani, who is famous for her hit TV drama series Kyunki Saas bhi Bahu ti’ as Tulsi untill she decided to throw her hat in the ring. Some people were seen taking selfie with friends ensuring that the Minister is at the background.
Irani inaugurated the exhibition on Sunday held at the premises of State Central Library also posed for photos with NIFT students and before leaving the venue she was seen taking photographs with the visitors.
Meanwhile, it was like a dream come true for one Debashish Choudhury from Tripura who was one of the participants at the textile exhibition after meeting Irani.
“I took selfie with her and said that I am a big fan of hers and appreciated me and asked me if I want to be a leader. I told her I want to be a social worker,” he told The Shillong Times.
Choudhury said that he was excited to meet the Minister and was looking forward to take a selfie with her. “It was a very good experience. One thing observed was that she loved kids very much and taken photographs with them as well.” he added.
