SHILLONG: The children of Cathedral Church celebrated Holy Childhood Day on Sunday in St. Xavier’s School, Tura.
The Holy Childhood is the association for the children who are under the age of 13 years in the Diocese of Tura.
The theme for the programme was “I was hungry but you gave me to eat” (Mt.25:25).
Children from St. Xavier’s School and Auxilium School also participated in the celebration along with the children of 7 CMCs of Cathedral Church. The programme was organised by the Pontifical Mission Organisation of Tura Diocese.
The celebration began with the hoisting of the flag by Fr. Hubert Sangma, followed by the Eucharistic celebration. In his homily, he told the children to be sincere and hard working in their dealings at homes or in the schools. They were provided meals during break.
Group dance, quiz and singing competitions were held and prizes were given to the winners. The director Fr. L. Sangma also spoke on the occasion.
