SHILLONG: GNLA chairman Champion Sangma has not yet decided whether to contest the 2018 Assembly elections.
“I will think later (about contesting the polls),” Sangma said during his brief interaction with media persons after the trial in a local court on Tuesday. He added that he would first get treatment for his backache.
Shortly after his arrest in 2012, the GNLA rebel had said he would contest the Assembly elections in 2013 as an independent candidate “either from inside the jail or outside”. However, he did not get into the poll fray.
