SHILLONG: Home Minister HDR Lyngdoh said on Wednesday Mukul Sangma should continue as chief minister of the State.
Praising the chief minister for developing infrastructure, the Home Minister said, “We are fortunate to have a CM like him. Other CMs will not be able to take the State to great heights. Our chief minister should continue to be our leader to serve our people.”
Lyngdoh has recently found himself in a spot over a 14-year-old girl’s rape and trafficking case. The minor girl was raped several times at Marvelene’s Inn, which is run by the minister’s family.
But Sangma continued to support him despite the demand of many city-based pressure groups for Lyngdoh’s resignation.
Lyngdoh, however, was not the only one who was all praise for Sangma.
During the recent inauguration of Pynursla Civil Sub-Division, cabinet minister Prestone Tynsong heaped praises on the chief minister that under his leadership, the Civil Sub-Division was created after a wait of 32 years.
