JOWAI: The FKJGP Jaintia Hills District Unit has lodged a complaint with the East Jaintia Hills deputy commissioner and demanded a proper enquiry into the alleged extortion by the officers on duty at DMR Check Point and Sales Tax gate situated at Umkiang and at Umtyr-a weighbridge.
“Trucks are being allowed to ply with load beyond permissible capacity and drivers are penalised heavily to fill their own pockets without the knowledge of the State government”, the FKJGP alleged.
