SHILLONG: A newborn baby died in Nazareth Hospital here on Friday morning allegedly due to negligence of the nurses.
The baby, which was born on Wednesday, had taken ill on Friday morning. The father of the infant Joslih Walarpih alleged that the nurses did not pay heed to their complaints when the baby was crying continuously even after being fed.
Stating that the baby was healthy (3 kg 900 gm), he said it was only when the infant “started appearing blue” that it was taken to the ICU.
The Nazareth Hospital was contacted by The Shillong Times and the receptionist tried to connect to the administrator but the official could not be reached.
