Nongpoh: A couple had a miraculous escape in the wee hours of Monday morning, when the over speeding truck crashed into their house while both of them were still sleeping inside.
The uncontrollable over speeding truck bearing registered number MN 01 – 9658 ran through the house at Mawtnum village under National Highway – 6 in Ri Bhoi.
The couple identified as Ebrin Wajri and Bhupen Basumatri, miraculously escaped unhurt while their rented house was fully damaged. Several properties which include a TV set, Dish TV, grocery, clothes, chair and others materials were damaged in this road mishap.
The driver of the truck has fled away from the incident site and the matter is under investigation, police said.
