NONGPOH: Ri Bhoi has natural resources in abundance and fertile soil and the youth here should take advantage, D.D Lapang said on Friday. The local MLA and chief adviser to the Government, at the inaugural function of the Bharat Nirman Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra building for Umshaken Area Employment Council (AEC), lauded village leaders and the block office for their cooperation.
“The government has provided many schemes like the MGNREGS to benefit residents, particularly those living in rural areas,”he said.
The building is constructed under MGNREGS of 2012-13 at a cost of Rs 10 lakh. The Umshaken AEC comprises 4 villages — Umshaken, Mawphru, Kroh and Umpathaw. He told the students to work hard and to be dedicative.
