BSF seizes cattle worth Rs 15 lakh

SHILLONG: The Border Security Force has claimed to have seized 92 cows worth Rs 15 lakh from the forested area of Pynursla in East Khasi Hills.
A BSF statement said the “smugglers were dumping the cattle near the international border” near Nongskhen village and were waiting for the right time to cross over to Bangladesh.
BSF has sought co-operation from local police to check cattle smuggling.
In the last one week, BSF troops seized 178 cows and contraband items worth over Rs 41 lakh.
