NONGPOH: A newly married woman died after consuming wild mushroom at Umkrem Dykhong village under Jirang constituency. Three other members of the family, who were seriously ill, were shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong for treatment.
The woman in her mid-twenties identified as Larian Doloi along with her husband, Ebron Wahlang had consumed the wild mushroom at the victim’s parent’s house last week.
Few days later, the couple along with Larian’s father, Raphin Lapang (40) and mother, Prilawin Doloi (39) fell ill. Despite taking medicines from Assam, Larian’s condition worsened and she expired on Saturday. The remaining three are still undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital.
