Workshop on waste management

NONGPOH: The office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi on Tuesday organised a one day “capacity building cum workshop on Solid & Liquid Waste Management Rules 2016 and Plastic Waste Management Rules 2016”, under Swachh Bharat Mission at the Science Hall, Nongpoh.
Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner Chinmay P Gotmare inaugurated the workshop P. Aku and his team from Urban Affairs department, Shillong and D. Syiemlieh from Meghalaya Pollution Board attended the programme as resource persons.
Addressing the gathering Gotmare said that the main aim of the workshop was to create awareness on Swachh Bharat Mission and the importance of making the villages open defecation free.
