SHILLONG: The Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner has informed the general public that the Central Health Education Bureau, Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has published a health Magazine titled “Health India Initiative” in 13 vernacular languages in addition to Hindi and English. Apart from the “hard copy” the e-magazine in all the languages is also available at the CHEB website (www.cheb.nic.in.) for necessary information relating to health issues.

The Shillong Times first appeared as a tabloid weekly on 10th August 1945 under the editorship of Late Sudhindra Bhusan Chaudhuri. In 1958 it was converted to a Daily. Owing to financial constraints, within six months it reverted back to a weekly.
