101 Area lifts football c’ship

SHILLONG: 101 Area won the Inter Formation Eastern Command Football Championship 2017-18 by defeating 17 Mountain Division football by 2 goals to nil in the final match played here on Monday, a release informed. The tournament was held at the Assam Regimental Centre under the aegis of Headquarters 101 Area from April 17 to 24, wherein a total of 16 teams from various Army Formations participated. General DS Ahuja, GOC, 101 Area who was the chief guest gave away the prizes to the winners and the runners up, he also congratulated the winners and lauded the Assam Regimental Centre for organising the event.
