Headman files FIR against ‘trouble creators

SHILLONG: The headman of Nongbareh village in West Jaintia Hills has filed an FIR against five people for accusing the village authorities of ostracising 66 families.
The headman, Kun Pohlong in his complaint stated that Starlight Talang, Rhah Pohlong, Shedron Pohlong, Kolit Talang and Takun Pohlong have accused the village authorities of ostracizing 66 families and selling the NFSA rice at high rates besides denying the families NFSA and MGNREGA scheme benefits.
The headman alleged that the five are trouble makers and obstructed and threatened the village authorities thus disturbing peace in the village.
