Youth killed in road accident
On May 4 around 5 pm, one truck (ML-05-4041) driven by Keshap Synrem (40) collided with one scooty (ML-05N-9920) ridden by Bandap Kharkongor (19) at Lad Mawphlang under Sohra PS (EKH). As a result, the scooty rider died on the spot.
Bolero stolen from PS
On May 5 around 2.30 am, unknown miscreant(s) stole one Bolero Pick-up (ML-05-9640) from Saiden under Nongpoh PS, Ri Bhoi.
FIR against Self Help Group ex president
Maialian K. Kharai and other members of Synrap Tyllilang Self Help Group (STSHG) on May 5 had jointly lodged a complaint that in the year 2010, Wosking Shangdiar, president of STSHG, took a loan of Rs. 2,25,000 from Meghalaya Rural Bank, Mawkyrwat Branch, without the knowledge of other members and failed to repay the same.
Accidents
On May 5 around 8.30 am, one Mahindra Maxx (ML-05F-7662) driven by Kitbok Kharpran collided head on with another Mahindra Maxx (ML-10A-0744) driven by Anthony Lapang at Umiam, Ri Bhoi. As a result, two occupants of Mahindra Maxx (ML-10A-0744) sustained injuries and were admitted at hospital.
On May 4 circa 9.15 pm, a Maruti Alto K-10 (ML-05M-4521) driven by Amy Kahit (27) dashed against one scooty (ML-05P-7141) ridden by Vicky Kr, Rai (32) near Fire Brigade, Shillong-Jowai Road. As a result, the rider sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Shillong.
On May 4 around 10 pm, one coal laden truck (AS-01EC-0069) capsized at Umiam Flyover in Ri Bhoi. As a result, one occupant sustained injuries and was admitted at CH Shillong. The trucker fled away after the incident.
Motorcycle stolen
On May 4, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-05L-8471) belonging to Michell Wahlang from Wahingdoh.
Men assaulted
On May 4 circa 7 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted Andy Majaw (39) at Mawlonghat. Victim sustained injuries and was admitted at CH Shillong.
Augustine Sumer of Lad Mukhla village lodged a complaint that on April 28 around 3 pm, Jayanta Roy, Manager of North Bengal Floritech Company located at Thadlaskein C & R D Block campus in West Jaintia Hills, indecently abused him and his friends and assaulted them in his office.
Man duped of Rs 70000
Samuel Marwein lodged a complaint that on May 3, he received a call from an unknown person promising to provide central schemes to the complainant and asked for his bank account details for which he provided. Later, he detected that Rs. 70,000/- has been fraudulently withdrawn from his account.
Vehicles seized for violation of NGT ban
On May 2, around 3 pm, police detected and seized one Bolero Pick-up (ML-04C-2987) belonging to Strongpillar Lyttan, which was dumping soil along the bridge of Myntdu river in violation of NGT order.
On May 2 around 5 pm, Magistrate along with Police, detected one coal laden truck (ML-04B-7535) driven by Stanly Dkhar, on suspicion of transporting coal beyond permissible limit, in violation of NGT order at Khliehriat in East Jaintia Hills.
