Teachers’ meet
The Meghalaya SSA Schools Association (MSSASA) will discuss the report received from the office of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan State Education Mission Authority of Meghalaya (SSA- SEMAM) and the Director of Directorate of School Education and Literacy during a meeting with 4th teachers’ at Bishop Conference Hall, Nongstoin on May 20.

Lion’s club prez
Biman Talukdar, has been elected as 53rd president of Lions Club of Shillong. He will take charge on July 1. Earlier, Talukdar has served as president of Leo Club of Shillong and Lions Club of Shillong in the year 1994-95. He officially represented the Lions Club of Shillong at International Convention at Chicago, USA in the year 1989.

Awareness programme
To raise awareness on societal changes brought about by the internet and new technologies and to help reduce the digital divide, the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics Communication & Engineering of Regional Institute of Science & Technology (RIST) observed the “World Telecommunication & Information Society Day – 2017” at its Techno City Campus on May 17.
The Sadar Police Station and Pasteur Beat House organized a personality and youth development programme at St Nanak Secondary School on Wednesday. The programme also focused cyber crime, drug abuse and crime against children and women.

Gratitude
The Dr H. Gordon Roberts Hospital, Shillong expressed its gratitude to the Shillong Rotary Club for its donation of a medical device, delivery mechanism demonstration stimulator towards the Nursing School.

Science workshop
Workshops on Activity Based Learning (ABL) of Science for students of class VI-VIII will be held during May-June at the office of State Council of Science Technology and Environment (SCSTE) to be conducted by TREE (Transformation through Research Education and Empowerment) Foundation.
