Five cops held for harassing school kids

MAWKYRWAT: The five police personnel who were accused of harassing three school students were arrested on Friday, South West Khasi Hills District police said.
South West Khasi Hills SP H.G Lyngdoh said a case was also registered against them. “I have also sent a report recommending their suspension. The matter is under investigation,” he added.
One of the arrested cops is a sub-inspector, C.R Marak. The others are Balbring G. Momin and Solomon R. Marak (3rd Battalion, MLP), Pynshangbun Shangpliang and Mathiush Marak (SF-10 commandoes), the KSU’s district unit said.
The incident happened at Nonghyllam village on Wednesday and an FIR was lodged by KSU and the Dorbar Shnong. The victims, all below 16 years of age, were assaulted without provocation.
