Khasi society distributes herbal plant seeds

NONGPOH: In a bid to protect various medicinal plants available in Meghalaya that might become extinct due to illegal burning of forest and Jhum cultivation, the Sumarlang Ai Dawai Khasi Society (SADKS) on Saturday conducted an awareness programme for the preservation and conservation of medicinal plants in the State.
Earlier on the day, the Society distributed seeds of medicinal plants to local practitioners, who attended the programme from across Khasi-Jaintia Hills. Over 100 local practitioners from across the State attended the programme.
The president of the Society, Philling Rynjah, spoke on the occasion.
