SHILLONG: Principal of Garodubi Higher Secondary School, I. H. Choudhury has refuted the allegations against him that he was holding dual posts.
Earlier, Rashidur Rahman, who claimed to be a para-legal volunteer, had lodged a complaint to the Government leveling various charges by accessing information under RTI.
“The allegations made by Rahman who is an assistant teacher of Pathranga U.P. School under SSA made are baseless. He is not a para-legal volunteer as he is a teacher by profession”, Choudhury said in a statement on Sunday.
According to the principal, the Garodubi Higher Secondary School is an amalgamated School having three sections, Upper Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary under the same umbrella and under one management. “The name of the School is same and it is Adhoc School availing lump sum grant”, he said. .
Denying the allegations of mismanagement and anomalies, the principal said that U.P, Secondary and Higher Secondary sections are under his administration.
“I am part of three sections amalgamated as “Garodubi Higher Secondary School”. The lump sum salary is received by me with due approval of the District School Education Officer”, Choudhury said.
He said the task which he is carrying out as assistant lecturer in addition to his normal duties as Principal was dully approved by the Education Department.
“As principal and assistant lecturer of Garodubi Higher Secondary School, my lump sum salary was with the approval the authority concerned and the e allegation made by Rahman that I am receiving two salaries is not genuine as it is just to malign my reputation and the education department”, he said.
He also denied making any fictitious appointments in the institution and said that a case will be filed against Rahman for false accusation.
The principal also said that he was ready for any probe.
