Garo body calls on CM, demands repair of national highways

SHILLONG: The Garo National Council (GNC), South Garo Hills has petitioned the Chief Minister demanding immediate repairing and restoration of vital roads in the district.
The GNC expressed concern over the deplorable conditions of the NH-62 and has asked the State Government to repair the NH-62 roads, Nongalbibra to Karonggre connecting to Tura, West Garo Hills, besides Baghmara to Maheskhola connecting to Ranikor in South West Khasi Hills.The Party also sought immediate repairing of the roads via Sibbari to Chokpot to Daluagre, South Garo Hills, for the convenience of the people as the road is in pitiable condition and has been lying neglected for several years.
Meanwhile, the party also expressed its concern over the inadequate power supply for the whole of district and till date, the district does not have MePDCL Division.
