Women’s Commission asks citizens to be alert

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya State Commission for Women (MSCW) has requested all local Dorbar to be vigilant and to alert residents in the wake of a robbery at Smit.
In a statement to the press, the MSCW expressed shock over the incident, where a woman’s ears and finger were cut off with the intention to take her jewelries.
The Commission has urged the concern authority to arrest the culprit and to take strict action.
KSU condemns
The Khasi Students’s Union Eastern Central has condemned the crime against the elderly woman from Smit. The leaders along with the KSU Girls’ wing on Friday visited her at NEIGRIHMS. The Union urged the police officials to catch the culprits as soon as possible.
