SHILLONG: The North-Eastern Hill University Teachers’ Association (NEHUTA) in a response to Pro- vice- chancellor of NEHU Henry Lamin’s statement said on Saturday that the language used by Lamin is extremely offensive and does not do justice to his primary status as a teacher of the University.
The association in a statement said it sympathizes with Prof. Lamin for his conspicuous silence on VC’s forgery related to HASA and VC being at the receiving end of the reprimand from the Ministry of Human Resources’ Development (MHRD).
The teachers’ body said that Lamin in 2009-10 had vigorously fought against illegal removal of HASA, but now he assumes the role of a wilful collaborator to the act of removal of HASA and that too on the basis of a forged document”.
Interestingly, the Pro-VC also has been a member of the Executive Council whose minutes are forged, of which he has no explanation, being a party to it, NEHUTA said.
NEHUTA also condemned the remarks of the pro-VC that NEHUTA is destabilizing the normal functioning of the University.
