SHILLONG: UDP has asked Chief Minister Mukul Sangma to desist from adding “lubricants” to the fire and show restraint on the railway issue.
UDP working president Bindo Lanong said on Sunday that the adamant stand of the chief minister will not solve the current problem.
“What is needed is not an aggressive stand. There is a need to have cool approach to settling the matter and he should not add fuel to the fire,” Lanong said.
According to Lanong, while announcing Shillong-Sohra railway line just six months before the next Assembly polls, the chief minister is only provoking the pressure groups instead of finding a solution to the problem.
“What is the intention of the chief minister in announcing the Shillong-Sohra project which even cabinet ministers are not aware of,” Lanong said.
