Shillong: In an open forum of the students and teachers of NEHU, organised by the North-Eastern Hill University Teachers’ Association (NEHUTA) on Thursday, members of both the associations i.e. NEHUTA and North-Eastern Hill University Students’ Union (NEHUSU) condemned the Vice-Chancellor Prof. S. K. Srivastava for distorting and manipulating the minutes of the Executive Council and in the process devaluing the sanctity and dignity of the University.
NEHUSU said that the Vice-Chancellor has been indulging in such unacceptable behaviour for quite some time in several other meetings with the student community.
NEHUSU extended its support to NEHUTA in its ongoing agitation against the VC’s tampering of official minutes and resolved to join its fight for the immediate removal of the Vice-Chancellor.
Members of the NEHUTA and NEHUSU demanded the immediate resignation of the Vice-Chancellor as he has lost all his legal and moral right to remain in office.
Public morality demands that he resign immediately.
