Woman killed as vehicle hits coal truck in EJH

SHILLONG: A woman was killed and five others including her husband were injured when the vehicle carrying them dashed against a coal laden 12 wheeler truck on Saturday morning.
According to police, at around 3:30 am, the Bolero vehicle dashed against the 12 wheeler truck at at Mookyndur village while proceeding towards Shillong.
Among the six passengers in the vehicle, the woman identified as Tania Dhar succumbed to her injuries and five injured persons, Nishideep Choudhury, husband of Tania , Prasenjit choudhury, Aamritaga Deb, both from Karimganj, BiplapBhattacharjee, and Madhumita Chonda, daughter of Ajit Kumar Chonda from Karimganj were shifted to Ialong Civil Hospital for treatment and later taken to NEIGRIHMS for better treatment. Later, the 12 wheeler truck was found to be loaded with coal and the truck will be brought to Ummulong Beat House after repairing the front tyre of the truck which was burst, police said.
The driver of the truck absconded, and a case was registered in this regard.
