Missing IAF chopper

Tezpur : The  MI-17  helicopter of Indian Air Force  that had gone missing  on Tuesday while returning to Salonibari IAF base in Tezpur in Sonitpur district of Assam after  being deployed  in flood relief operation  in Arunachal Pradesh , has  remained untraced.
Official sources said, search and rescue operations have been launched by multiple agencies, including civil administration of both Assam and Arunachal Pradesh , Army and para-military forces.
The last contact with the missing chopper was established by the Air Traffic Control of Salonibari at 1550 hours on Tuesday when it was on its return journey.
Sonitpur deputy commissioner MK Deka said the copter with three crew members on board including the pilot  had flown from Salonibari  Tuesday morning to provide relief materials in Itanagar and Sagali areas of Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh. (UNI)
