SHILLONG: The Dorbar Shnong, Mawprem, in an emergent meeting on Saturday, expressed ‘strong resentment’ over the report, which stated that Congress Shillong West has demanded an investigation over the disturbance caused to the residents.
The members of the Dorbar warned political parties, NGOs or any other individual to not publicise any incident that occurred in the jurisdiction of Mawprem Dorbar without verifying the facts.
The Dorbar added that such publicity is prima facie, an obtrusive into the affairs of the Dorbar Shnong, who is constantly involved in maintaining peace, tranquility and cordial atmosphere in the locality.
It may be mentioned that the Congress Shillong West demanded an investigation into the case of a 6-year-old girl, whose gold earrings were snatched and blamed a UDP supporter.
The family of the girl has slammed the Congress Shillong West for interfering and publicising family matters.
