DC meets EJH Waheh Shnong
SHILLONG: The East Jaintia Hills deputy commissioner met the Waheh Shnong and the Secretary Shnong recently at Khliehriat West Community Hall to discuss the prevailing law and order and tourism, among other things. The DC, MS Lhuid, sought locals’ co-operation in tackling crime in the district. He also spoke on livelihood issues and tourism potential of the district which has many caves.

Awareness programme
NONGSTOIN: The Office of the District Social Welfare Officer and the District Child Protection Officer, West Khasi Hills District, Nongstoin, in collaboration with the North East Network (NEN) will be organising a ‘Community Awareness Programme on Crime against Women and Children’ on July 18 at Siejlieh. The objective of the awareness programme is to sensitise the general public about the evil of crime against women and children and how to protect and prevent its effect on the society.
